Jetzt, das Ende.
My NC State career (1978-2025) is fading away.

NC State, it's been a pleasure doing business with you. Thank you very much and goodbye.

My post-retirement professional activities are

Professional Data: books , recent publications and tech reports , software in Matlab and Julia, presentations and talks , complete vita ,
undergraduate RAs , current and former Ph. D. students, my co-authors , my mathematical family tree ,

New stuff

My new book: Solving Nonlinear Equations with Iterative Methods: Solvers and Examples in Julia published in print on Oct 31, 2022, just in time for holiday giving.
Check out the Julia package and the Notebook .

Lea Jenkins (PhD 2000) is the new SIAM VP for Education. Yet another former student becomes a big shot.

SIAM has noticed that I have a new job

Old new stuff

My last PhD student Zack Morrow left the building on July 9, 2021. He is now at Sandia.

Katie is now the Robert A. Plane Endowed Chair at Clarkson University

My term as SIAM board chair expired in Dec 2019. Praise to the term limit gods!

They made me a fellow of the AAAS .

Why publish with SIAM?

The Mathematics Department at Purdue gave me the outstanding Alumnus Award for 2013.

I'm somebody now! Scroll to the bottom of Henk van der Vorst's
math portrait page.

Why should you join SIAM ?

A REALLY OLD picture.
